Synthesis and Transformation of Hollow Rutile Titania Wires by Single Spinneret Electrospinning with Sol-Gel Chemistry

The work described below was carried out to understand how control the morphology of nanostructured titania calcined from electrospun nanofibers. This is first report hollow rutile nanofibers synthesized with short calcination time. Titanium isopropoxide incorporated into as precursor. electrospinning technique used fabricate ceramic/polymer hybrid were then produce different morphologies (hollow or solid nanofibers), which characterized by SEM and TEM. initial concentration ceramic precursor time shown nanofiber. only obtained a within certain level times. heat treatment profile contributed particle growth. At longer times, growth led closure core all resembled strings particles. A formation mechanism for also proposed.
